Leafcloud is proud to have achieved our ISO/IEC 27001 certification. yet more proof that Leafcloud's distributed Leaf site architecture - maximizing the use of server waste heat and not building new data centers - doesn't compromise when it comes to data security.
What this means for our customers
Good news for anyone who requires information security certification! After months of preparation and a massive team effort, a third party auditor has certified that Leafcloud's security and privacy policies and systems are at or above the required international standards. Companies can confidently build their secure and sensitive data and systems on Leafcloud's infrastructure.
In short: It proves the technology is ready to take us away from wasteful hyperscale data centers and towards a distributed, sustainable, and secure digital future.
I can't understate the dedication of our team in taking on this challenge and embracing the resulting measures. Achieving this certification opens up a new chapter for Leafcloud and reinforces our belief that we are changing the fundamentals of the cloud landscape. Niek de Jong - CEO, Leafcloud
The big picture
No more leaving that laptop unattended. For Leafcloud, this certification opens up new opportunities in processing sensitive data. Looking beyond Leafcloud though, this is another win for distributed data centers in general. Our distributed cloud architecture can go toe-to-toe with the old-fashioned cloud providers on security, with the potential to vastly outpace them in terms of sustainability and reliability.
What is the ISO27001
The ISO framework consists of a series of policies and processes, ISO-27001 is part of a set of standards developed to handle information security. ISO 27001 provides a framework to help organizations to protect their information through the adoption of an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
The basic goal of ISO 27001 is to protect three aspects of information:
- Confidentiality: only the authorized persons have the right to access information.
- Integrity: only the authorized persons can change the information.
- Availability: the information must be accessible to authorized persons whenever it is needed.
Brand Compliance
Our certification was put forward following an audit by Brand Compliance, who have a track record of quality audits and certifications that date back to 2004. Special thanks to the staff at Brand Compliance, who managed to provide guidance where needed and ran as smooth a process as one can hope for.
